Lukavac is a small town located in the North-Eastern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Lukavac Municipality covers 350 kilometers and has the population of 56,830.

The town lays in the River Spreca valley and on the foothills of the mountains
of Ozren, Konjuh and Majevica.

The town itself only has 10.000 inhabitants. However, it is the biggest inhabited place
in this municipality. It is situated by a very important railway junction,
between two industrial centres, Tuzla and Doboj.

Lukavac is a typical industrial town with the cement, coke and nitrogen factories
and its well-known Fabrika sode (Bicarbonate Factory).

In recent times, however, this municipality is more and more interested in development
of tourism thanks to its abundant forests and other natural resources
covering 15.742 hectares and three lakes with the Lake Modrac being the largest of the three.
